Same goes for me. I actually know a company located at the 15th floor of that building, and that's NuSkin. From the tracing and research I've made, this is related to sales and marketing. What's annoying about the business call they/he did was he didn't even mention what his company was all about, what they do, and what exactly they're looking for. If you plan on going to that "appointment" or "interview," I suggest you ask someone older, more experienced (esp someone you trust) to go with you.

Oh btw, I still have no assurance that they're for real. I still have my doubts.
Oh my gosh..A guy from that company called me too..He was talking too fast like he was in a hurry and he was just babbling along and nalolowbat na siya and well, it was all too fast and too weird I turned down the offer right away..

http://noneed4ink.i.ph/blogs/noneed4ink/2007/02/04/i-almost-got-scammed/#comment-2345 Thanks to Maki Eduardo for posting something about this scam on her blog! ![]() It really seems that this MLM company preys on its victims everyday! And guess what? I had my awful share of this manipulative recruitment strategy a.k.a. SCAM! To those who keep on defending Nu Skin, just pause for a while and ponder. We're not attacking the company itself but the way you recruit people. You people are so annoying! Get a life! How can you work for a company that tricks and deceives people? You get more money at the expense of ethics and integrity? Oh well, that's really not new in this country anymore. Anyway, the story began when I got a call from a certain guy named Toby Tan a couple of months ago. Luckily, I was employed that time and was not really looking for a new job. He mentioned to me that the company's name was Synergy1. He told me the same blah-blah's and pambobola's. Of course, being in an IT company and a computer freak, I searched and didn't find anything about the said company. I believe this blog entry hasn't been submitted yet to Google that time. And since he mentioned to me that the "US-based" company was still on its early stage of expansion here in the Philippines, that somehow justified the reason of not finding it in the Internet. I was really hesitant to attend the meeting that we've set and didn't have time to squeeze it in my schedule so I finally declined and apologized. He just then asked if I could recommend other people of the same capacity who might be interested. I was actually planning to give names just to make it up to him. Good thing I was very busy at work to do so. I'm currently looking for a new job so I decided to contact this guy again last Friday. I texted him asking if the offer was still available. He replied to me this morning asking for my landline and I dumbly gave my number at the office. Just imagine how I made his job so easy for him! He called a couple of hours ago and asked what has changed my mind. I told him that I wanted to try new things. I assumed that he was some kind of a headhunter because I've been receiving offers too and was being pirated by some telcos. Towards the end of our short conversation I made it clear that if the offer had something to do with sales, I wouldn't be interested. He confirmed that it's not and that he was thinking of making me a part the new division. I was still not convinced. I just felt that there's something fishy about it. I was supposed to send him my resume. I kinda trusted him because he knows the company I work for and even mentioned that he attended an event that I organized early this year. He even mentioned to me the name of the event and the name of my boss so I was almost convinced that he was for real. (Almost, but not quite!) I asked him what the company's website is and he just replied, "Synergy1 International is a business development group." (Wrong answer!) My meeting with him was supposed to be this Saturday. Thank GOD I found this blog entry! I have already cancelled my appointment. Here's what I texted him, "I just got promoted. Thanks for the offer anyway." :P BTW, I'm looking for OJTs and/or job applicants who are taking or finished a degree in IT, Computer Science, or Communications from a reputable university. If you’re interested, just email your resume to dm@mozcom.com. I'll see if I could offer you a position in our business development department. This time, it's for real! ![]() P.S. I even thought of reporting this to ABS-CBN’s XXX, but then again I realized, they’ve wasted too much of my time already. Besides, I believe our generation is smart enough to search the Internet and find this blog entry. I just did!
someone from said company just called 10 minutes ago, introducing himself as "Jacob", and he didn't even give his last name. apparently he mentioned that i was recommended by my org in school, and that i was one of those "selected" to participate in an interview. moreover, he didn't even state what his company does. he even tried to flatter me by saying that i "sounded decent and responsible", and that i would make a good employee.
what was weird was that i am no longer a member of the org he mentioned in our conversation, and what was weirder was how he acquired my landline number in the process. moral lesson: dont talk to strangers. thanks to this link, by the way. ![]()
guys i am new in the company, one month nko...hndi naman sa iddefend ko ang nu skin o kung ano... kung tutuusin nga is were offering an opportunity to work part time, have time and money at the same time...hindi naman po kami nanloloko ng tao. this is an opportunity, some may take it some may not... pain is temporary but regret is forever..i have doubts din before i joined, pero nalinawanagan na me when i entered, sometimes u should take risks to know the facts.. we should rely on truths and not opinions..etong sinasabi ko opinion lng dn toh, based on my experience..but in the other side...we are unique, hindi lahat ng nangyari saken e ganun din sa inyo and vice versa...sana po wag nio nlng sirain ung company kung meron kaung di nagustuhan...lahat naman po ay my kanya kanyang bad side, bad system, like the government?! o mga skul, wala pong perfect company, at walang perfect na tao. ang akin lng kasi nursing student ako...ayoko mgpaalipin sa ibang tao (lalo na sa ibang bansa, tas di ko pa ksama mga mahal ko sa buhay) (like what my mom is experiencing), at lahat naman tau nghahangad na guminhawa ang buhay kaya nga ngssikap taung mging employee muna para makapundar ng pangnegosyo naten...or kaya mgpakaOFW para dito sa Pilipinas may pangbusiness...my ibang tao tlga na negative..ang akin lang...wag magsalita kung wala tlaga kaung alam
smart people seek for facts...fools accept opinions.. so ask urself, cno kya ako dun?
"beware of those who stand aloof and greet each venture with reproof; the world would stop if things were run by men who say it can't be..." guys never accept the negative until you have thoroughly explored the positive. be smart..... wag lang basta magpatangay sa opinion ng iba... see it for urself..then dats da time to decide.. im sure if ur smart ul know if its a scam or wat not ryt? and besides, ndi naman siguro kayo kakatayin kung magpunta dun at tumanggi sa opportunity kung ayaw nyo talaga dba? for skeptic pipol, I was like that before, i felt it too, pero sobra thakful ako at sa sobrang pagkaskeptic ko, pumunta ko para malaman ang facts.. buti nalang! kung alam niyo lang kung pano nakatulong sakin ang opportunity na ibinigay sakin. thankful ako na i was given a chance to work with such great company and work with lots of God-fearing and genuinly nice pipol... for direct reply (questions or perhaps violent reactions) feel free to mail me at sipatlaya@yahoo.com ![]() :: leave a comment You need to be logged-in order to post comments.Still do not have an account?
