TRO for Binay

The Court of Appeals issued a 60-day temporary restraining order against the suspension of Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay. That’s 60 days for Binay to "exorcise" the ghosts out of the city hall payroll and 60 days for Ronaldo Puno to assess what went wrong with his strategy.

The Court of Appeals stopped the suspension of Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay. To celebrate his first round victory, Binay is organizing a huge Halloween Party – for the "ghost employees."

The Court of Appeals stopped the suspension of Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay. Finally, a Cory Aquino prayer was answered.

The stock market rose to its highest level in more than seven years despite the tense situation in Makati City. Now we know, businessmen have so little concern for Jojo Binay.

The stock market rose to its highest level in more than seven years despite the tense situation in Makati City. Anti-GMA forces were very disappointed. That’s not what they were hoping for.

Kalookan Row

Former Kalookan City Mayor Rey Malonzo revealed recently that incumbent Mayor Recom Echeverri benefited from the controversial fertilizer funds. Echeverri couldn’t be reached for a comment but a source said the mayor and his men are busy looking for a flood-prone area which they could transform into a rice paddy.

The Great Escape

Four workers of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) seized by their bodyguards escaped from their captors in Jolo, Sulu. The captives thought it would be much safer to escape than wait for the soldiers to rescue them.

LTFRB Revamp

Malacañang has fired Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board Chair Ma. Elena Bautista. That’s an early Christmas present for the organized group of fixers at the LTFRB.

Ultra Stampede

The Department of Justice recommended the filing of charges against Willie Revillame and ABS-CBN executives over the Ultra stampede that killed 74 people. If ever, that’ll be the third case to be filed against Revillame in less than a month. No wonder, Joey De Leon is all smiles these days.

Coming Soon

Due to the success of the movie First Day High, Star Cinema is thinking of a sequel. But it will be for adults only. First Day High II will star PDEA agents as themselves.

The Others

A Grey's Anatomy star has just admitted he’s gay. Read here.

The list of the 10 most polluted places in the world is out. Was Guimaras included? Find out here.

A Catholic priest denies having sex with the controversial former gay Republican Congressman Mark Foley. More here.

Enjoy your weekend!

A party for the ghost employees, indeed.

Seriously, the government should also look into this. It is highly probable that other government agencies also have their own sets of "ghost employees". Dapat lang itigil na ang mga ganitong klase ng korupsyon kasi milyon milyon ang nawawala sa public funds eh.

Well what can I say. Binay has learned to love his little kingdom of Makati so that he stayed there for twenty years. He just deployed his wife to run for mayor in the interim of his first and second sets of three full terms, kapit tuko talaga. Instead of giving the poor of Makati a means to stand on their own feet, he has kept them dependent on dole-outs that can easily be taken away if they refuse to support him in the elections.
