Tone Your Own Muscle.
I am reading Bo again. I read something there that gave me a lingering thought again. You know, since I started this blog thing, no thought would go unwritten, really. I’d keep an indispensable notebook beside me, and whenever a thought would pop out of my mind, I’ll jot it down on that notebook and create a title on-the-spot. And in a weird way, the thoughts usually comes out when I sit at the car looking at the sky or the road or a kid picking his nose on a street. Going back. I said I was reading Bo again. Now I got a free e-book. And I loved it. A thought popped out while reading it. And I know I must post it here. So here it goes. You might be wondering about the title. But it perfectly defines the meaning of what I am going to write. Have you read my post http://tagatirangkaninglamig.blog.friendster.com/2009/07/individuality/ . The title is “Individuality” and I talked about the individualities of a person. I wanted to explain something very close to that idea. But I’m going to talk about a little more specific that being an individual. I’ll talk about capabilities. Game. Who believes that to strengthen your weaknesses is the key to success? Many would say “I”. I would say, “Not me.” I don’t believe that strengthening your shortcoming is the key factor to being someone successful. No it is not, And I will say it again. A lot of people will object, but my belief is cemented, nothing can change it. Hear this. What is the point of honing what you are not good at? Why focus on the things you are not capable of, to try to squeak your way through it, knowing that you could not put yourself inside that capability. Strengthening a weakness is an effort in vain, I should say. People today are used to being someone who thinks he/she is yet he/she isn’t. Why focus on another bull’s eye, when you have your own dartboard? Isn’t it kind of illogical? Here is my proposition. Why strengthen your weakness? Why focus on your capabilities? When you have your own muscle to tone? Strengthen your strengths. I don’t know, but it makes sense right? Why focus on the things that God did not give you, when you have a lot more weapons which God arranged out for you? Why tone the muscle of a body builder when you’ve got your own musclebrain to tone? We lived to this belief, that if we hone our weaknesses, we would cover the gaps of our life. And we would be unconquerable, invincible, undefeatable. But in the process, your God given abilities are neglected, and you’d realized that you did not improve with your weaknesses much. One reason, because when Professor X is a cripple, he used his mind and became the leader of the mutants. Focus on what you can do, and not what you can’t do. Do you know the game Sims? I would kill you if you haven’t heard of that game. If you have the game in your computer, try playing it then go to the make-a-character section. Did you notice that when its time to place the attributes of the character, the bars below will be reduced as you add more to certain capabilities. So the player cannot produce a full bar and fill it all. This is a good example that we should focus on strengths, we cannot be good in everything. If you are good in a certain ability, surely you will be bad in another. You cannot fill all gaps in your incapabilities by trying to cover it. No one is perfect. You know, I’ve never been good at drawing, or generally speaking, art. I am a deadwood when it comes to art. I may even be called rottenwood. Through the years of my frustration, I’ve come to realize, why am I trying to be an artist? When I can write. So what did I do? I did not draw, I wrote. See now, this is the only thing in this earth from which I hold my sanity tight. Do you get my point now? We should betray our broken thoughts that being good at what you are not good at will make you good at it. Our weaknesses were made so that we would hold the knowledge, that we, are only human beings. We cannot be perfect. So focus your sights on what your abilities. Not hers, not his, not theirs, not even mine. Yours. We all got our own skills. A cook will cook. He will not sing. An athlete will run. He will not dance. You will be you. You must not be him. Why try to be other when you don’t need to be? The bull’s eye is set for you, pick your dartboard, not you neighbor’s. Your sights on yours, The other’s for theirs. You have your own muscles. Tone yours. Adik. Oo nga noh. Hindi ko naisip yun.
A boxer will fight. A boxer will also sing. A boxer will have a kabet. A boxer will run as congressman. A boxer will try to speak barok english. Naks, multitasking nga ah. Di ko naisip yun ah.
I guess it also depends on the "strength". Pero at some, point, we will still have to try to trim the "fat". You don't have to concentrate on it, but you pay attention. Pagdating ng College, saka mu na birahan ng exercise ang iyong "muscles" because that's your strength.

Yes, yun ang point ko.
Hindi ko lang tal;aga pinalabas. Inoppose ko lang yung kasabihang "Strengthen your weaknesses and become indomitable". But no objections to what you said, it's true. :: leave a comment You need to be logged-in order to post comments.Still do not have an account? Register for free
