Japan ang pangalawa sa may pinakamalaking ekonomiya sa buong mundo.
In my understanding of Japan, upper class people/families have a family net income between the range of $250K-$1,000K per annum. And those people earning above $1M per year are the uber-rich elite. You may be asking about the rest of the people. Well, if you are earning between $75K-$99K and single, you are in the middle class. Everyone else who earns less than $250K and/or has a family is lower class.Out of the 130M people who live in Japan, there must be less than 10 gazillionaires, 1,000 upper-class families, and 129+M lower-class people.
TOKYO (Nikkei)--One percent of people say they are in the upper class in terms of their standard of living, while 54% think they are in the middle class and 37% feel they are in the lower class, according to the recent Nihon Keizai Shimbun survey. Almost two decades ago, in a similar poll conducted by Nikkei in 1987, during the go-go years of the bubble economy, 2% of respondents said they are upper class and 75% said they are middle class, with 20% thinking they are lower class. Of the respondents in the latest poll, 36% say they are worse off than five years ago, while 11% say they are doing better. Though 46% say their standard of living has not changed, the number of people who are aware of growing disparities in income among the social classes has increased.
